Initially, I got into photography as a way to explore the world. But the pandemic made that world smaller as hazards seemed to be everywhere. This project, Walking in Circles, is the result of the daily practice of walking the dog. The challenge of photographing so close to home is having a head that’s clear enough to see what’s right in front of me. More often than not, I don’t… and the camera just hangs like a dead weight. But even so, the act itself, just walking slowly and paying attention to the here and now, is its own reward.
