The work Electromagnetism [a study] responds, in part, to the social isolation that we have all felt as part of the COVID-19 pandemic. With our schedules and routines disrupted, we have found ourselves stuck in our bodies, alone in our homes. This circumstance forces a sometimes uncomfortable intimacy, where we examine our thoughts, motives, emotions, and identity. This work explores the electromagnetic life force within all of us. The rhythmic and automatic heartbeat expresses our power, resilience, and the relentless determination to live. However, it also betrays the limitations of the physical body, our vulnerability, and the inevitability of our mortality.
