Ashley Burney
Artist Statement: I have always loved the arts and think it’s one of the greatest forms of expression. I love experimenting with various mediums, but one of my favorites is photography. I like to display deep emotions and the faces of adversity. Showing the world the truth and stories behind my images is one of my main conventional drivers.
Bio: I am a second year Running Start student from Woodland High School. In August, I will be transferring to Embry-Riddle in Florida to study aeronautical and military science in hopes to one day become a fighter pilot for the USAF.

Artist Statement: I’m a photographer and my drive is to bring emotion and feeling to the viewer and inspire their dreams. The ideas behind my creations currently are simply making reality beautiful, or showing the melancholy feeling that I get from seeing something and letting the viewer see it from my perspective.

Artist Statement: I am driven to create analog photographs of landscapes and people. For photographing landscape, I’d like to capture places that bring nostalgia of a place that holds sentimental value. For photographing people, I’d like to capture strong emotion and candid shots of people doing what they love.

Ellie Fowell
Artist Statement: I am a photographer. I use my digital camera (a Canon Rebel t6) to capture little things that I find beauty in that others might not. I believe that photos can make a person look beautiful regardless of any of their flaws. I like to do little to no editing on my photos to keep these flaws and show my subjects their true beauty. I prefer candid shots and portraits. I want to evoke emotion in all of my photos to get people to feel things from a glance like I do in everyday life!
Bio: Ellie Fowell is a freshman at Clark College this year. Her dream is to become a photojournalist to combine her two passions, photography and writing. She is inspired by the human experience and other people.

Katia Garcia
Artist Statement: My photography subjects are similar to my dry medium work, which is done either in charcoal or graphite. Documenting experiences outside in nature as well as memories with my friends and family is the backbone of my photography interest. Narratives in my work are derived from candid moments with my family, friends, and appreciation for nature.
Bio: I was born in Fontana, California and raised in Camas, Washington. My family has always been an artistic family and I have been given the opportunity to embrace different aspects of art while growing up. From playing various instruments, singing, knitting, as well as drawing and painting. This is my second year attending Clark College, and I appreciate the refinement of my own sense of style within my drawing and photography through the classes I have taken here. I have some of my artwork displayed at the Camas Gallery under the name Leigh if anyone is interested in my work.

Bio: Avigheia is too long - Avi is much better, taking photography class as a Running Start student. Always loved to do some type of art, something like - knitting, drawing, playing guitar, or piano, watercolors, sculpting, and now trying to work on my photography skills.

Ayden Johnson
Artist Statement: My art practice is, well, all over the place if I’m being totally honest. Not in a disorganized way, but rather in a searching kind of way. Over my whole life, I’ve been jumping from one area of art to the next, whether that’s from my school classes or my pure curiosity in different types of art, or rather, different ways I can capture a thought I created. If I have to describe what my narrative is behind my art work, I would probably briefly explain how many of my art pieces follow the drive of having potential. And to know what that potential is, you have to sit back and really ask yourself what this art means and how it impacts me.
Bio: I am 16 years old, attending Hockinson High school and Clark College, and I am currently exploring the area of art that deals with capturing real life moments with camera (digital and film). My previous art class in Clark was a drawing class, which is a hobby I like to do in general. Painting and making things out of all sorts of materials to make an appealing piece are things I’ve done and would like to continue doing.

Emily McConnell
Artist Statement: I love art in all different forms. I enjoy photography, wire wrapping, beading, painting, & anything you can think of! A few years ago my aunt back east really opened my eyes to a lot of possibilities & showed me a lot of the things I know. I love expressing myself through different creative mediums and exploring options.
Bio: I am 19 years old & this is my last quarter at Clark & then I will have my AA degree. I'm not too sure on what I want for the future but I am interested in small business and travel! Art has always been an outlet for me ever since I was a child; I truly don't know where I would be without it.

Kyle Pettyjohn
Artist Statement: Art, for me, has been a creative outlet and a way to connect and explore. I've always been overly analytical and art has allowed me to expose my creative side and break away from my analytical side. Through art, I continue to learn about the endless possibilities that exist within one's creative self.
Bio: I'm 25 years old and still very much in the experimental stages of creating art. I love not considering myself as an artist because I feel that it allows me to be fluid in my methods and perspective. Wherever my path takes me in life, I will be forever grateful for what art has opened my eyes to.

Samantha Stieber
Artist Statement: I try to use elements around me that one wouldn’t conventionally use in photos or find beautiful. A lot of the experimenting that I enjoy most comes post-op. The photo really comes to life once I’m able to edit it and modify it into something unique.
Bio: I’m a senior in high school who has always had an interest in arts. Photography has always been a main intrigue of mine and schooling has provided me the opportunity to learn and grow in the arts.

Ella Stromberg
Artist Statement: I'm a photographer and I use a Nikon d3500 camera, and I love taking pictures of relationships that portray something small compared to something bigger than us. Like a human to the Earth, and the Earth to the entire universe, etc. I love getting in touch with that reality, as well as capturing the texture of it, and taking photos of things that wouldn't be considered beautiful in daily life.
Bio: I am hard of hearing. I grew up in a deaf family, and I am bilingual (ASL and English). I'm a Running Start student at Clark College and I love photography; I might choose it to be my minor after I graduate with an associate's transfer degree and work towards my bachelor's degree (still figuring out the university part). I plan to be in public relations because I love helping and working with people.

Kristina Svistunov
Artist Statement: I absolutely love photography. I love to take different pictures of people. Catching people off guard or staging a picture to make the viewer intrigued and thoughtful about the meaning behind it. In the following images, our class prompt for the week was to take many different creative pictures that portray the elements of design on a film camera. My goal was to show culture through some of my pictures throughout the entire project. In the following pictures, I was trying to take a picture that most people normally take, but play around with the angles and think of new ways to take the picture.
Bio: I am a Running Start student and this is my third quarter here at Clark College. Outside of schoolwork, I have a lot of extra-curricular activities that are centered around music. I enjoy singing which is why I am involved in our church choir, a worship group, and I sing solos occasionally. On the other hand, I also enjoy playing the piano. This is more of a hobby, but I have been playing the piano for about 10 years now.

Erin Thompson
Artist Statement: I have always been into crafting, especially crocheting or bead work. Recently I have enrolled into a photography class. At first I was nervous about using a camera, but now that I have been in the class a few weeks, I am finding that I really enjoy taking pictures. I have found I really love to take pictures of flowers, nature and using candles to capture different aspects of light. Most of my ideas come from driving around and looking for the best pictures to capture.
Bio: I am once again a full time student. I decided two years ago to go back to school to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I want to be able to show my friends and family that age is just a number and that you are never too old to make your dreams a reality. I am also a mom, who loves to take pictures of my kids. Normally, I use my phone to capture their special moments, but I'm finding that using a dslr camera is really fun. The possibilities to creating a piece of art are endless.

Eva Tilden
Artist Statement: I am a beginning photographer and I enjoy making photos of both landscapes and people. I mainly use my Nikon camera to try to capture a unique image. The kinds of ideas I have behind my creations is to make a picture that evoke some type of emotion when viewing it.
Bio: My name is Eva Tilden and I am a Running Start student in my final quarter of college. I enjoy being outdoors and creating new experiences. I have always wanted to get into photography past my phone camera but did not know where to begin. For my spring quarter, I decided to take one of Bobby Abrahamson's photography classes and have since been deeply inspired and motivated to continue creating new photos.

Kristen Warden
Artist Statement: My medium is photography. I love how photography not only captures precious moments and memories, but that you can capture a story within a single picture. It can create depth, curiosity, and a deeper meaning at times. My work focuses on those deeper meanings and what one might be going through. My story through photography also shows the human spirit and how one can persevere through any challenges one may encounter.
Bio: I am a stay-at-home mother to two very active and beautiful girls. My daughters' bravery and determination through their own activities inspired me to go after my own dreams and passions. I have always been drawn to activities that allow me to use my creativity and bring joy to others. Being able to capture moments and try new things in photography has allowed me to utilize that creativity and I hope, put a smile on someone's face.

Marlem Yanez
Artist Statement: The images were taken with an APEX film camera that was loaned to me by Clark College, the film that was used is called analog black and white film. These three images were inspired by the elements of design, how to make a colorless image come to life while unanswered questions surface the viewer’s mind.
Bio: My life is busy and full of love and aspirations, mainly to become better every day in everything I do. Becoming a mother taught me patience but when I became a student, the perseverance became the overall lesson. Photography is something I enjoy doing and would love to continue doing for the rest of my life.
