Madisyn Chan
Artist Statement: I normally like to work with graphite but I wanted to try something different with collage and express my feelings and ideas with this piece. The idea behind this piece was the theme of loneliness, our perception (of ourselves/others/the world/etc), and pain. But also with a concept going along with the Black Lives Matter movement.
Bio: My name is Madisyn Chan. I am currently a Senior in High School and I am enrolled in the Running Start program. Ever since I was young, I liked to draw and try to practice and expand my current skills. I love how meaningful art can be. It can not only tell stories but also express feelings and emotions through the work of the artist.

Artist Statement: The line art piece is inspired by a grounding view of the PNW's great outdoors. The collage was a very personal interpretation of a lot of my interests at the time and how a busy mind may feel.

Grace Feucht
Artist Statement: I am a visual artist that works mostly with collage and paper cuts. These mediums can be used to create really realistic or unrealistic images. I use that to my advantage as my work is focused on romanticizing and appreciating the beauty of everyday life.
Bio: I was raised by an art teacher so I've been involved in the arts my entire life. As I grew older, I experimented with the performing, visual and video arts. But overtime I've found that I can express myself and tell stories most freely through the visual arts. It was through exploring the visual arts more deeply that I found my voice through collage and paper cuts.
Title of Piece: “Adventure Seekers”
Medium: Paper collage
Course: ART101, 2D Art & Design
Professor: Michelle Ramin
Patrick Foley
Artist Statement: I want to make art, or at least something that could be defined as art. I try to dabble in as many different media as possible. I think some things are better represented in one media more than others. For instance; a painting of a PB&J will never be as good as the real thing.
Bio: I was a chef for many years. Coincidentally, I was also able to travel extensively. I traded in my backpack and kitchen tools for art supplies, and I’m starting a new journey.
Title of Piece: “Fred”
Medium: Paper collage
Course: ART151, Art Appreciation
Professor: Sally Tomlinson
Shannon Guo
Artist Statement: My artistic practice style is simple and life-oriented. A pen and a sketchbook make it easier for me to have the impulse to record every bit of life. If I have enough time to work on a project, I may think about it for a few days before preparing the material. Any material can be a tool for my creation. I'm most relaxed when I start with a random part. I like to expand my story continuity with small creations.
Bio: My name is Shannon Guo. I am a student studying for an associate's degree in liberal arts at Clark College. I love almost everything to do with art. So I'm more like a happy-go-lucky person, accepting all the art around me that I can come into contact with. Sophisticated, fashionable, unpretentious, simple, and humorous art styles are the scope of my consideration. I hope that through learning and training in Clark, my future self will be more calm and confident when entering the work field of art.

Ariel Hricziscse
Artist Statement: I usually create pieces for myself - something I enjoy looking at or that has a special meaning to me. For the most part, I enjoy creating art based on the natural world that sends positive vibes. In addition, I have made a few drawings based on less than ideal situations such as hospice care and also medication dependence. I prefer to use my art as an outlet to look on the lighter side of life.
Bio: I am a hobby artist. I have always felt a strong need for a creative outlet and I enjoy dabbling in various types of art. I have loved coloring and drawing ever since I could hold a pencil or a crayon. I see being creative as an essential part of my life, no matter my circumstances or resources. I also enjoy encouraging others to tap into their creative powers.

Artist Statement: I have not had a lot of practice in the art world. I have taken a few art classes in middle school and currently, but that is the extent of my learning. Medium: Micron and Sharpie on Bristol paper
Course: ART101, 2D Art & Design
Professor: Michelle Ramin
Angela Lucescu
Artist Statement: I have not taken very many art classes nor do I do lots of art like this piece I have done, but I do enjoy being creative and stepping outside of my regular comfort zone, and doing something new. When I practice art, I don't really know what I am going for at first. I mostly just go off the top of my head and figure out later what it really is. I am interested in abstract art, especially when I am creating abstract art, as it doesn't have to really represent anything in particular, which helps me to just go off and make my own strange creation.
Bio: I am a Running Start student at Clark College and I am working to receive my AA in a general transfer degree. I enjoy the art of doing calligraphy and making different cards with creative lettering on each of them. I also enjoy baking many different types of desserts and decorating cakes. These activities are some of the many things that I like to participate in doing in my free time, as well as being active outside and traveling.
Title of Piece: “Cellular Level”
Medium: Pigma Micron pens and Sharpies on Bristol paper
Course: ART101, 2D Art & Design
Professor: Michelle Ramin
Victoria Roemhildt
Artist Statement: This art piece was created when I was in ART 101 with Professor Ramin. The prompt was a Surrealism collage. Everything was cut or hole-punched from magazines and paper. I was really inspired by a fairytale theme which is where the bright colors and the little pirate ship came from! I saw the hand in a magazine and loved the idea of it being a tree!
Bio: My name is Tori Roemhildt! I am currently on my last few terms at Clark College to get my transfer associate's degree. After taking ART 101 here at Clark, I found that I love being creative. It gives me an outlet to make anything I want and eases my mind!
